The 3 – 2 – More Project

A project for the working family that wants to do more to get involved in their child academic pursuit by planning and using the power of the school community: the parent does 3 new things in the upcoming school year and the child does 2 new things.

This is for you if:

• You work nine to five or more hours?

• Are tired by the time you get home and feel like doing nothing.

•You’ve heard that “Advanced Placement and Gifted and Talented” classes will be too challenging for your child.

• You want to do more to help your child reach their highest potential.

• You have a longing for your child to try at least one challenging class but don’t know how to start, you won’t accept the idea that “Advanced Placement or Gifted and Talented” classes will be too challenging for your child.

• You have a desire to be more involved next school year, but don’t know how.

•You wished you knew what to do before, during and after school start.

•As a working family, and a parent who lives in the Howard County Public School System District, I  want to challenge you to join me by signing up for this checklist and making a commitment to 3- 2- more.

•It’s also for you if you don’t live in Howard County but are interested in what this is about.

During one of our sessions at the Columbia Dialogue one of the events in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Columbia, Maryland, a City built on the Vision of Jim Rouse we watched a video and it touched me as a mom living in Howard County with children that have taken gt & ap classes,

My take-away was how can we motivate each other better, tell other parents that they can do this too and help others kids get the advantage of advanced and gt classes, and how do we encourage our children to take the classes. How can we make the best use of the resources available in the school system, the county and the State of Maryland be it private resources or public resources of organizations.

What can we do better, to help children in the early years of elementary school.

I called around, spoke and asked people in the education field a lot of questions, visited people, read articles, watched videos and realized that I needed to take action.

Taking action led to the: 3 – 2 – More Project and your 1st step is the checklist and commitment sheet.

Thankful and grateful to all the HCPSS staff that shared their best ways for us to be better engaged in the upcoming school year of 2017 – 2018.

Sign-up to receive the Checklist and Commitment sheet and to be notified about the upcoming meeting

Encouragement from an optimistic single mom. Life changed for me in 2008, and since then it has been an adventure. I have learnt to love the road I am on, and smell the roses while driving on it too. I believe that standards of living can change without a moment’s notice, affecting our old way of life. That Passion can die, and be reignited again. I found my passion and It's writing and the story behind it. I'm super passionate about hospitality, leadership and finance. I am a single mom of boys who wants to change the world through a smile and genuine service. I own up to the fact that I make an awesome follower. I encourage and I inspire. I write, I blog, sometimes - I lead well, and sometimes I follow badly. But the important thing is to get started. I recently met Simon Sinek, the Start with Why Guy and and so continue to inspire the world. Email me for a free 20 minute chat or to help you on your way to your Why.
